ZHUKOVSKY, RUSSIA – Watch in this awesome video of YouTuber Jerry Taha how these 2 Russian Navy Sukhoi Su-30SM Flanker-Cs land perfectly in sync at the 2019 MAKS Airshow in Russia. The Su-30SM is a multirole fighter aircraft developed by Sukhoi for the Russian Air Force and Navy. It’s an advanced derivative of the Su-30MK combat aircraft family. The first Su-30SM designed for the Russian Air Force performed its maiden flight in September 2012 and in November 2012 the first Su-30SM was delivered to the RuAF.
MAKS International Aviation and Space Show
MAKS is an international airshow held at Zhukovsky International Airport, the home of the Gromov Flight Research Institute in Zhukovsky, 40 km (25 miles) southeast of Moscow, Russia. The event was organized by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade until 2009, more recently by the Government of Moscow and Aviasalon. The first show, Mosaeroshow-92, was held in 1992. Since 1993, the air show was renamed as MAKS and is held biennially on odd years.
The 2019 edition of MAKS Airshow was held from August 27 till September 1. The last 3 days – during the weekend – are open to the public, just like the airshows in Paris, Farnborough, Berlin, Istanbul and Dubai.
