DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA – A Cessna Citation business jet performed a belly landing on Thursday at Daytona Beach International Airport, Daytona Beach News reported. The jet slid to a stop after its gear would not come down. The incident closed the runways at the airport and diverted 2 flights. There were no injuries reported.
Joanne Magely – spokesperson for Daytona Beach International Airport – confirmed that a Cessna Citation Mustang jet made a belly landing with 2 people on board around 12:45 PM local time at Daytona Beach International Airport in Florida. There were no injuries.
Both major runways at the airport were closed as crews removed the plane, inspected the runways and cleaned up the fuel spills on the runway:
