RAF FAIRFORD, ENGLAND – Watch how this beautiful Su-27P1M Flanker demonstrates its capabilities during an impressive demo at the 2018 edition of the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) in the U.K. The Ukrainian fighter jet always is a popular guest when it visits the RIAT airshow, the world’s greatest military airshow in the world. The Air Tattoo has announced on January 13, 2022 that it will return this Summer, after an absence on the international airshow calendar for 2 years. Hopefully the Ukrainian Su-27 will return again this year. The Air Tattoo will confirm its first aircraft for the flying display later this month.
Colonel Oleksandr ‘Grey Wolf’ Oksanchenko, who was the Ukrainian Air Force Su-27 Flanker demo pilot between 2013-2018, and also the demo pilot in this video, has sadly lost his life Friday night on February 25, 2022. His jet was shot down near the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. Colonel Oksanchenko reportedly lost his life when his jet was shot down by a Russian S-400 Triumph Air Defence Missile System Friday night, although it has not been officially confirmed by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
