TOULOUSE, FRANCE – Airbus has successfully performed the first fully automatic vision-based takeoff last month at Toulouse-Blagnac Airport in France, using an Airbus A350-1000 test aircraft. The test crew – consisting of 2 pilots, 2 flight test engineers and 1 test flight engineer – the ATTOL-system – Autonomous Taxiing, Takeoff and Landing. The A350 took off at around 10:15 AM local time on December 18, 2019 and conducted a total of 8 takeoffs over a period of 4 and a half hours.
