An amazingly rare video by YouTuber Cargospotter of the biggest prop plane in the world: the Antonov An-22 Antei (NATO name: Cock). The An-22 is a heavy military transport aircraft – powered by 4 turboprop engines and each driving a pair of contra-rotating propellers – designed by the Antonov Design Bureau from the Ukraine. It’s the first wide-body transport aircraft and remains the world’s largest turboprop-powered aircraft to date. The An-22 first appeared outside the Soviet Union at the 1965 Paris Air Show. The prototype was rolled out on August 18, 1964 and first flew on February 27, 1965.
