VIDEO – RELIVE THE LAUNCH OF THREE NEW CREW MEMBERS TO THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION

BAIKONUR, KAZAKHSTAN – Relive NASA’s live stream of the launch of 3 space travelers to the ISS (International Space Station) on Wednesday, October 14 at 1:45 A.M. (EDT). NASA Astronaut Kate Rubins, Sergey Ryzhikov and Sergey Kud-Sverchkov of the Russian space agency Roscosmos were launched aboard the Soyuz MS-17 spacecraft for a two-orbit, three-hour journey and docked to the orbiting laboratory. This is the second trip to space for both Rubins and Ryzhikov, and the first for Kud-Sverchkov. During their six-month mission, they will welcome SpaceX Crew-1 astronauts Mike Hopkins and Victor Glover, NASA Astronaut Shannon Walker, and Soichi Noguchi of JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency).

Baikonur Cosmodrome

Baikonur Cosmodrome is the spaceport is located in an area in southern Kazakhstan and is the world’s first spaceport for orbital and human launches and the largest (in area) operational space launch facility. The spaceport is currently leased by the Kazakh Government to Russia until 2050, and is managed jointly by the Roscosmos State Corporation and the Russian Aerospace Forces.
