DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES – Last week’s Dubai Airshow 2019, which was held on November 17-21, was very successful for Airbus. The European aircraft manufacturer announced new business for its widebody and single-aisle commercial jetliners while unveiling exciting initiatives aligned with the company’s commitment to a more sustainable aviation industry.
During the 5-day event low-cost carrier Air Arabia placed an order for 120 single-aisle A320 family aircraft; 73 A320neos, 27 A321neos and 20 A321XLRs (extra-long-range). Dubai based airline Emirates agreed to purchase 50 widebody A350-900s.
Other announcements were the firm order from Irish–American commercial aviation financing and leasing company GECAS for 12 widebody A330neos and 20 A321XLRs; Saudi Arabia’s first low-cost airline Flynas ordered 10 A321XLRs; and Air Senegal agreed to purchase 8 A220-300s of the new A220 member in Airbus’ single-aisle jetliner product line.
