Blue Angels Transition from Legacy Hornets to Super Hornets

VIDEO – THE BLUE ANGELS’ TRANSITION FROM LEGACY HORNETS TO SUPER HORNETS

NAS PENSACOLA, FLORIDA – Watch in this beautiful Boeing video how the U.S. Navy #BlueAngels initiated the transition on November 5, 2020 from Legacy F/A-18 A-D Hornets to F/A-18 E/F Super Hornets. U.S. Navy Capt. Eric Doyle tells what this historic evolution means for the fleet after the Hornet’s 34-years of service for the team. The Blue Angels has flown Boeing or Boeing-heritage aircraft for more than 50 years, starting in 1969 with the F-4J Phantom II. The team then transitioned to the A-4F Skyhawk in 1974 and F/A-18 A/B in 1986, to subsequently transition to the C/D variant in 2010. Boeing has delivered a total of 11 aircraft for the U.S. Navy Blue Angels Flight Demonstation Squadron.
