Spectacular Flyby British Airways and Red Arrows

SPECTACULAR FLYBY BRITISH AIRWAYS B747 WITH THE RAF RED ARROWS AT RIAT 2019

FAIRFORD, ENGLAND – British Airways’ special-liveried Boeing 747 took to the skies alongside the Red Arrows in a spectacular fly by at this year’s Royal International Air Tattoo. The Boeing 747 has been painted in the colours of the airline’s predecessor – British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) – to mark its centenary celebrations this year.

Last week The Red Arrows took to the skies in a Boeing 747 simulator ahead of the spectacular flyby today at the Royal International Air Tattoo. The Reds experienced in the Boeing 747 simulator how difficult it is to land a large Jumbo Jet in relation to their small Hawk jets.

The Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) is the largest military air show in the world, which is held annually in the 3rd weekend of July – this year from July 19-21 – at RAF Fairford Air Base in Gloucestershire, England. The airshow attracts around 150,000 visitors annually.
