DÜSSELDORF, GERMANY – After Pegasus Flight PC1003 from Istanbul to Düsseldorf landed at Dusseldorf Airport on Saturday, passengers on board the Boeing 737 were evacuated, due to smoke coming out of the aircraft’s landing gear, Airlive reports.

Flight PC1003 departed from Istanbul at 1:57 PM local time and landed at 3:31 PM local time in Düsseldorf.

After the Boeing 737-86N with registration TC-CPU landed, fire and smoke were coming from the landing gear. Smoke was also noticed by Air Traffic Controllers in the airport’s tower, which resulted in the flight crew’s decision to evacuate the passengers.

All the passengers were evacuated safely via 2 emergency slides after the B737 arrived at the platform at Dusseldorf Airport:

Pegasus’ statement:

“Our TC-CPU tail registration aircraft flight PC1003, from Sabiha Gökçen to Düsseldorf flight, has landed smoothly and safely at Düsseldorf Airport today. During the approaching to the parking, the tower was warned that there was a fire and smoke under the aircraft. Our flight crew decided the emergency leave procedure for the safety of our passengers.”
