Aeroflot receives its fifth Superjet

AEROFLOT HAS RECEIVED ITS FIRST FIVE SUPERJETS

MOSCOW, RUSSIA – Aeroflot has now received the first 5 Sukhoi Superjets. The Russian airline ordered a total of 100 Superjets and has already signed a contract for 50 aircraft. Aeroflot will be the biggest user of the new Russian passenger aircraft.

Just before the end of 2019, leasing company VEB Leasing delivered the fifth aircraft from the mega order of 100 aircraft to Aeroflot. The first Superjet was delivered to Aeroflot in 2011 and the last one will be delivered in 2026.

The Aeroflot Sukhoi Superjet 100 has 12 seats in Business Class and 75 in Economy Class and are used on domestic flight in Russia and to destinations in Europe.

In May 2019, one of the Superjets crashed during a failed emergency landing in Moscow, killing 41 people. A combination of technical problems and crew errors caused the crash of the Superjet.
