TOULOUSE, FRANCE – Russia’s flag carrier Aeroflot has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350-900. Aeroflot is the launch operator of the new generation wide-body passenger aircraft in Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The airline received its first A350 featuring a new livery. Aeroflot has ordered a total of 22 A350-900 aircraft.

Delivery Ceremony

The first Aeroflot A350 delivery was celebrated during a unique ceremony at the Airbus headquarters in Toulouse on Friday, with flight attendants dressed up in retro Aeroflot uniforms, dating back to the 1960s.

New generation wide-body passenger jet

The Aeroflot Airbus A350 can accommodate 316 passengers, with 28 seats in Business Class, 24 seats in Comfort Class and 264 seats in Economy Class.

Aeroflot’s A350-900 is offering unrivaled passenger comfort, featuring a brand new elegant cabin design with on-board entertainment via HD screens in every seat, and also WiFi is available on board the A350.

New livery

The brand new Aeroflot A350-900 – named after famous Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky – with registration VQ-BFY, also features a distinctive new livery, embracing Aeroflot’s almost 100-year heritage. Aeroflot will celebrate its 100th anniversay in 2023.

Aeroflot has a total of 22 A350-900 aircraft on order and operates an Airbus fleet of 126 aircraft, of which 107 A320 Family and 19 A330 aircraft. This year the airline plans to take delivery of 11 A350s.

Destinations

Aeroflot will operate its A350-900 from Moscow to a number of destinations, including London, New York, Miami, Dubai, Osaka and Beijing.
